Lovely soundtracks

A few days ago, BBC did an audio story about the film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s  The Road, which is coming out later this year. Included in the story is some of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ soundtrack for the film (it starts at about 3:30 in the audio clip). Unsurprisingly, the music sounds absolutely beautiful. I say unsurprisingly because the pair has already created two marvelous soundtracks. The first was for The Proposition, a dark Western set in the Australian outback, with a screenplay by none other than Nick Cave himself. Their second collaboration was for The Assassination of Jesse James, quite a beautiful film starring Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck. Both were very good films which were enhanced tremendously by their beautiful scores.

“Song for Jesse” from The Assassination of Jesse James

“Proposition #1″ from The Proposition

Isn’t the music lovely? Good job, guys.
